Somatics? Skoden!: Embodiment for Indigenous Activists

Somatics is a healing modality that combines psychotherapy, movement theory, and bodywork. For Indigenous people it can be another way to ground in our bodies and in the Earth. For activists it can be a tool to support us aligning our values with our practices. This interactive workshop will be an introduction to Somatics through conversation and light physical movements.

Holiday Simmons, MSW is the founder and Lead Practitioner of Southern Soul Wellness, a holistic mental health and spiritual wellness practice for the liberation of mind, body, community, and planet Earth. His practice is rooted in psychotherapy, somatics for social justice, and Black and Indigenous traditional medicine ways. Holiday makes his home in the Muscogee Creek lands of Atlanta, GA and finds beauty in soccer, the ocean, and hugging moments of liberation. www.southernsoulwellness.com
